The Historic Mountain House Hotel

The Historic Mountain House Hotel was built by the Pennsylvania Railroad in 1850 in the little town of Cresson Pennsylvania, and it was torn down in 1910. The furnishings were sold to locals that were interested in buying them at the time.

In his mind this is what my dad thought our farm looked like. He worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad all his life, so being able to see the trains going up and down the mountain was his greatest delight.
